1743 — Present Day
"A story written in every bubble"
The Beginning
In the rolling hills of Champagne, where chalky soils have nurtured vineyards for centuries, Madame Isabelle Aurelius established her Maison with a singular vision: to create champagnes of extraordinary elegance that would capture the essence of celebration itself.
From humble beginnings in a 17th-century stone cellar beneath the cobblestone streets of Épernay, Isabelle's commitment to perfection quickly attracted the attention of French nobility and eventually earned the patronage of the royal court.
Seven generations later, that same dedication to craft guides every decision made at Aurelius. Our wines continue to be produced using traditional methods, including hand-harvesting and gentle pressing, ensuring each bottle maintains the character and quality that has defined our Maison for nearly three centuries.
Our Philosophy
Our champagnes are never rushed. From harvest to cellar, each step follows the rhythm of nature. Our Vintage Reserve spends a minimum of 8 years maturing in the darkness of our chalk cellars.
While others embrace automation, we honor the craftspeople whose hands have shaped our wines for centuries. Traditional pressing, hand-harvesting, and barrel fermentation remain at the heart of our process.
Every bottle undergoes rigorous quality control. Only wines that meet our exacting standards bear the Aurelius name—a promise of quality maintained since 1743.
